Irish Road Safety Week

Monday 2nd October to 8th October 2023

Irish Road Safety Week, taking place from Monday, 2 to Sunday, 8 October, is being organized by the Road Safety Authority (RSA). The RSA urges individuals to actively participate in the events held within their local communities and support this important cause.

Tyre Safety Day

On Monday, October 2nd, the Irish Tyre Industry Association (ITIA) is urging all drivers in Ireland to participate in Tyre Safety Day. As part of Irish Road Safety Week, ITIA members across the country are offering free tyre pressure checks and thread depth inspections to motorists. By visiting www.itia.ie, drivers can find their nearest ITIA registered dealer and obtain valuable information on tyre safety, including tips on purchasing second-hand tyres. Don't miss this opportunity to ensure your tyres are in optimal condition.

RSA Annual Conference

On Wednesday 4 October, the RSA will host its Annual Conference, focusing on the topic of serious injuries. This year's conference will bring together esteemed national and international speakers who will share their insights and best practices in tackling this important issue. The lineup of speakers represents diverse backgrounds including policy development, academia, and medicine. Additionally, the afternoon session will include a panel discussion with international experts, where attendees can gain valuable knowledge from their policies and experiences concerning E-scooters.

National Child Safety Day

On Friday 6 October, the RSA will release its report on Child Casualties as part of National Child Safety Day. This day also presents an excellent chance for pre-schoolers to participate in road safety activities. Pre-schools had the option to order Beep Beep packs in advance from the RSA website, and these packs, along with over 40,000 high visibility vests, will be distributed to pre-schools across the country ahead of National Child Safety Day.
